From downsizing...
Downsizing from a much-loved family home, with all the memories it holds, can be tough.
Our customer came to us when they found themselves in this position and were taking on a kitchen in a new, smaller home, that just did not work for them.
Luckily, there were some great aspects to the kitchen that our consultant was able to make full use of.
The main issues for our customer were
- lack of storage
- wrong layout
Let's take a look at the 'before' pics of the kitchen:
Previewing the new kitchen design
After a consultation and measurements were taken, the designs were drawn up. Taking the opportunity to have a new colour scheme that suited them more, the 3D images were then created. The customer can see in realistic detail what their design and colour choices will look like. They opted for a two-colour scheme, with a lighter colour on the wall cabinets to open out the space and using the same handles throughout which pulls the scheme together - pardon the pun! Simple, classic finishes add to the opulence of the overall design.
A beautiful Belfast sink is incorporated into the design, along with a curved cupboard to take away a sharp corner by the back door.
Making the most of the high ceilings, taller wall cupboards feature in the design as does a decorative unit to hide the extractor fan.
A complete re-design of this right-hand corner gives a very pleasing feature that our customer is thrilled with!
...to decadence...
- High ceilings allowed for extra tall wall cabinets to maximise storage space
- The integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and extractor were all added seamlessly
- Crown Imperial Ashton cabinetry in Pale Blue (base units) and Pure White (wall cabinets) make a statement
- Quartz worktops, upstands and splashback behind the range finish this luxurious new look
The curved corner makes a great feature and more user-friendly kitchen.
A classic double Belfast sink adds another level of luxury to this scheme.
Pewter with white ceramic effect handles link both base and wall cabinet colours for a cohesive look.
A stunning 'Stoves' Sterling S900EI range cooker, and decorative extractor cover, adds a real statement to the room.

... and beyond!
Clever redesign of this hard-to-reach corner space allows the addition of decorative open shelving. Resulting in a light and open feel to the corner this also helps push the walls 'out' and makes the kitchen feel larger. The customer is able to accessorise the space as they wish.
A door and window going through into an entrance lobby have been removed, opening up the space. A panel was added to the side of the built-in fridge/freezer as a backpiece to this stunning nook and display area. Both decorative and useful, this is a great design element allowing for a view through to the beautiful new kitchen.
Definition of decadence: to give in to one's desires for comfort and pleasure.
